JAMMU, Aug 13: Mayor Jammu, Rajinder Sharma today inaugurated a blood donation camp organized by Sant Nirankari Mission at Pounichak near, here.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor, Rajinder Sharma said Sant Nirankari Mission has done a tremendous work for the mankind by organizing regular blood donation camps. Sant Nirankari Mission created an atmosphere of love, peace, oneness which is useful in maintaining harmony among people and they also lead the society to live happily, he added.
Mayor congratulated the donors who donated blood on the occasion for the benefit of humanity and to spread the message of universal brotherhood and lauded the efforts of Sant Nirankari Mission for their selfless services for the society.
Ajit Singh Zonal in charge Jammu said that the first blood donation camp was organized in 1986 and since then the last 37 years blood donation camps are being organised by the Mission to spread the message of Baba Hardev Singh Ji that “Blood should flow in veins and not the drains”. Till now Sant Nirankari Mission has donated more than 1275000 units of blood, he added.
He said in a year nearly 500 blood donation camps are organised in India and he also highlighted the other socio-economic and spiritual activities of the Mission.
Rattan Lal Mukhi of Branch Pounichak presented the vote of thanks.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr Mohsin, Dr Anu Radha from Blood Bank GMC, Jammu, Gian Chand Khetriya Sanchalak Jammu, Kewal Krishan Sanchalak Pounichak and several senior citizens and social workers of the society.
The camp was held with blessings of Satguru Mata Sudhiksha Ji in collaboration with Blood and Transfusion Department of Government Medical College GMC), Jammu and JKSACS.
