JAMMU, Jan 22: Continuing the drive to provide better development and basic facilities to the people of Jammu city, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted an extensive tour of various parts of Jammu city in Ward No. 49, 50 & 53 and took stock of the different development activities there.
According to a handout issued by JMC here, the Mayor also met with the inhabitants of these wards and listened to their grievances patiently. In Ward No.49, he inaugurated a well furnished community /public toilet at Balgram SOS Home, Channi Rama on the demand of management of S.O.S Home along with Kamal Singh Jamwal, Councilor of the Ward. Arun Gupta, Executive Engineer, JMC, Anil Gupta, AEE JMC representatives of Voluntary Organizations on Environment & Social Economic Planning (VOESEP) concerned contractor, Management of SOS Home, children studying at Balgram were present on the occasion.
Mayor also laid foundation stone of construction of deep drains at Sector 4 Channi Himmat, near Ambika Supermarket with approved cost of Rs.2.70 crore along with Baldev Singh Billoria, Chairman Health & Sanitation committee JMC, Neena Gupta Councilor of the Ward No. 50, Vinay Gupta, district president BJP, Neeraj Puri Councilor of Ward No.54 and Gandhi Nagar BJP Mandal president, Anil Kumar Massom, Councilor of Ward No.10 Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, AEE UEED, inhabitants of Channi Himmat and other field staff of JMC. Mayor directed the engineers of UEED to execute the development works with quality material within stipulated time period.
Later Mayor toured in the Trikuta Nagar area of Ward No.53 along with Jyoti Devi and started the upgradation & renovation of Jagdish Aggarwal park in Trikuta Nagar area in presence of Baldev Billoria, Chairman Health & Sanitation committee, Neeraj Puri councilor of Ward No.54 and Gandhi Nagar BJP Mandal president, Vinay Gupta, district president, BJP Anil Kumar Massom, councilor of Ward No.10, Sham Lal senior BJP leader and other prominent citizens of Trikuta Nagar area. This was the long pending demand of the inhabitants of this locality. The renovated work will be done with modern facilities at the estimated cost of Rs 5.00 lakh by Jammu Municipal Corporation like other parks of Jammu city.
Mayor appealed to the gathering that they should come forward and cooperate with JMC in development and other initiatives being taken by the Department in making Jammu neat, clean & green under Swacch Bharat Mission, plant more and more saplings in their locality, segregate dry & wet garbage at source avoid using plastics, polythenes etc which are harmful for our society and locality.
