JAMMU, Jan 27: Continuing the drive to provide better development as well as basic amenities to the people of Jammu City, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) along with Dinesh Gupta councillor of Ward No.18 conducted an extensive tour of different areas of Sarwal Ward and started the construction of various lanes near the Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha, Sarwal Jammu. These lanes will be constructed by Engineering Wing of JMC at the estimated cost of Rs Four lakh within the stipulated time period & with quality materials. This was the long pending demand of the residents of Sarwal as the devotees have to face lot of hardships due to broken lanes. They had to pass through these lanes to reach Shri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara and back to their destinations, especially in the morning & evening hours.
Deep Kumar Sharma, Assistant Executive Engineer, concerned contractor, field staff of various sections of JMC Paramjeet Singh Chairman, Harbaksh Singh president, Gurpreet Singh, vice president, Amar Pal Singh, secretary, Manmohan Singh, cashier, Harneet Singh joint secretary, Harjinder Singh Member, Harbajan Singh, Tarlochan Singh, Kuldeep Singh Executive Members of Gurudwarda Guru Singh Sabha Sarwal New Plot Jammu and other inhabitants of the locality were also present during the tour. They also raised the issues of installation of street lights, lifting of stray dogs/ animals, better sanitation in their locality.
Mayor assured that all their demands will be sorted out on merits and directed the concerned officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation to resolve the issues on war footing. He also told the gatherings that all the other remaining lanes and drains will be renovated and constructed in phased manner like in other wards of city.
Later Mayor also visited Ward No.47 in the areas of Kacha Talab Bahu Fort etc along with Sharda Kumari Councillor of Ward No.47, Neeraj Puri councilor of Ward No.54 also Gandhi Nagar BJP Mandal president, Vinay Gupta, BJP Jammu district president, Wadhera, Junior Engineer & field staff of P.H.E. as well as field staff of different sections of JMC and large number of inhabitants of Ward No.47.
Mayor kick started the laying of P.H.E. pipes of big diameter by replacing old & defunct pipes which are insufficient to cater the needs of drinking water for the people of Kacha Talab Bahu Fort Jammu which was the major demand of inhabitants as most of people living there belongs to below poverty line and they have to bring drinking water especially in Summer season from very long distance from their homes. These PHE Pipes will be laid at the estimate cost of Rs Two Lakh only within the shortest period of time by the active efforts of Mayor and concerned Councillor.
