JAMMU, June 29: Continuing the drive to provide better development and civic amenities to the people of Jammu City, Chander Mohan Gupta, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) conducted an extensive tour in the areas of Narwal and its adjoining locality and kick started the construction/renovation of parks situated at National Enclave Mohalla.
The mayor was accompanied by Kamal Singh (Councillor of Ward 49), Ghulam Rasool (Executive Engineer), Ajay Gupta (Assistant Executive Engineer), Shabab Raja (Junior Engineer, Division I).
The mayor kick started work of installation of suitable benches for the visitors as well as cementedwalkway in the centre of park, railing system and other modern facilities for the morning/evening walkers at an estimate cost of Rupees five lakhs only.
It was the long pending demands of the inhabitants of these localities as there is no other park in the nearby area for their children to play and general public for morning and evening walk.
The Mayor along with Triprita Devi (Councillor of Ward 66), concerned Engineering Wing of Division –III, Tara Chand (BJP leader) and other residents of the locality also visited Lower Roop Nagar and surrounding areas and reviewed the ongoing renovation work of park.
Later, Mayor visited various localities i.e Akalpur and Sangrampur of Ward 75 along with Rajinder Singh Chib (district president, Jammu Rural BJP) and local BJP leaders, and listened to the problems being faced by the residents as the ward has been newly included in the Jammu Municipal Corporation and required all types of development works with additional funds as almost all the lanes and drains are mostly ‘kacha’ ones, roads are broken. He assured that all their issues will be resolved shortly by providing additional manpower as well as funds.
The Mayor said that JMC has already started the development/ renovation of all the city parks, de-silting of all the nallahs in view of the coming rainy season, development of water bodies and various other development activities to make Jammu a neat, clean and green city.
