JAMMU, Jan 3: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta here today laid foundation stone for construction of a water tank and a shed inside Yasho-Karan Park near Ranbireshwar Temple.
He was accompanied by BJP General Secretary, Yudhvir Sethi and Corporator, Anil Masoom.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that the water tank will facilitate pilgrims and those who visit park for walks.
“It will also act like as a reservoir used for watering plants and turf so that beauty of park is maintained at all times,” he further said adding that the shed constructed in the park will help people to get shade during summers and will protect them from rains as well.
Gupta said that Jammu known as City of Temples and gets millions of visitors so every effort is being put into place to beautify it and also add facilities to the existing infrastructure so that aesthetics of Jammu is maintained artistically too.
He said beautification project of flyover is also a part of that drive to make Jammu look like a cultural hub of all faiths.
Yudhvir Sethi said that several such places are lying abandoned and people were facing inconveniences. “Now that roads and water points around these places are being developed, Jammu will look beautiful and also help pilgrims and locals to enjoy amenities,” he maintained.
