JAMMU, Feb 1: Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta here today laid foundation stone of a Community Hall at Pacca Talab near Bahu Fort.
Kavinder Gupta, Ex-Deputy Chief Minister; Vikram Randhawa, Ex-MLC; Vinay Gupta, BJP District Jammu President; Sharda Kumari, JMC Councillor Ward 47; Neeraj Puri, BJP Gandhi Nagar Mandal President and Councillor Ward 54; Rajeev Charak, senior BJP leader along with Arun Gupta, Executive Engineer; Vijay Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer and others were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said, the community hall was the long pending demands of the locals as they were facing hardship to perform functions in their locality as there is no sufficient space in the locality meant for such activities.
He informed that the project will be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 12 lakh with all facilities for general public and directed the concerned wing of JMC to complete the work within stipulated time by applying best quality construction material.
The Mayor assured the locals there that all the remaining construction works of drains and lanes in the Ward will be taken up on priority as large number of pilgrims pass through the locality to visit Mata Bawe Wali shrine.
He appeal to the general public to come forward and cooperate with JMC and other allied departments in all type of development activities being undertaken for the beautification of Jammu City.
The Mayor also said that the public should avoid single use plastics and polythene, segregate dry and wet wastes at their own level, plant more and more saplings in and around their locality to make Jammu neat and clean.
