JAMMU, July 15: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta today toured the areas of Rajpura, Shiv Nagar and Shakti Nagar of Ward number 33 and took stock of problems being faced by the people there.
The locals demanded renovations of drains, deep drains and their proper de-silting well before rainy season.
Removal of garbage on routine basis, installation of street lights, lifting of stray animals etc was also demanded.
Surinder Chowdhary, Councilor of Ward number 29, Balwan Singh, Ward President and other prominent persons including Ved Sharma, Munish Khajuria, Atul Bakshi, Baba Sharma, Satpal Khajuria and Ashok Sharma, AEE JMC, Junior Engineer of the area and other officers of JMC were also present on the occasion.
The Mayor also visited Shakti Nagar cremation ground and started tile work there.
He directed the engineering wing of JMC to complete the work on war footing and assured the locals that all their remaining demands will also be fulfilled on priority basis.
The Mayor asked the general public to not to throw garbage, filth etc in the drains and lanes and cooperate JMC in making the city neat and clean.
