JAMMU, Apr 16: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta along with Dy. Mayor, Purnima Sharma here today inaugurated a modern Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) Garbage Transfer Station at Udhaywala.
Mohinder Kumar Bhagat, Councilor Ward no. 61; Neeraj Vaid, Assistant Executive Engineer; K.K Bali, Assistant Engineer and others along with prominent locals of the area were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion the Mayor said that construction of the Garbage Transfer Station was started few months back and has been completed with the requisite amenities and allied activities with the construction of approach road linking with main road.
He said that the project completed with an expenditure of Rs. 29 lakh.
The Mayor also said that such Garbage Transfer Stations under solid waste management will be constructed in various parts of the city for garbage disposal in a very scientific and planned manner.
He asked the general public to cooperate with JMC in keeping their localities neat and clean and avoid throwing garbage and other waste materials on road.
Dy. Mayor threw light on the working as well as importance of Garbage Transfer Stations.
