JAMMU, Feb 4: Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today chaired the General Functions Standing Committee meeting in the Conference Hall of JMC during which he passed several directions for smooth functioning of the Corporation.
The meeting was attended by members of the Standing Committee viz Dinesh Gupta, Neeraj Puri, Sucha Singh, Akshay Sharma, Sunita Gupta, Anu Bali and Surjeet Singh. Commissioner JMC, Pankaj Magotra, Joint Commissioner (A) Pardeep Singh, Secretary Sunaina Sharma, Assistant Commissioner (R) Prem Singh, Executive Engineer (T) Arun Gupta and others senior officers of JMC were also present.
Mayor, JMC directed the concerned authorities to speed up process of recruitment of safaikaramcharies to improve the sanitation work of every ward. He stressed upon the authorities to start the Bio-Metric attendance of sanitation staff. The Mayor issued instructions to the concerned authorities that JMC parks should be maintained at the earliest by constituting two teams of gardeners/mallies.
He also issued instructions for engagement of linemen and helpers in Electric section through NGO to achieve the goal of providing the street light facilities to the general public at large. The directions were also issued to the concerned authorities to speed up the process of door to door collection, night scavenging, purchasing of wooden wheel barrows, auto for lifting of segregated waste from the household and lifting of stray animals.
Chander Mohan emphasized that building permission may be given in one go and the cases pending for compounding shall be considered on priority basis so that general public may not suffer. The members also raised the issue of street lights, recruitment of Safaikaramcharies at the earliest to meet up the problem of sanitation and providing of vehicles for lifting of garbage. They also demanded speedy disposal of building permission cases.
Commissioner, JMC assured the Chair that every possible step shall be taken for better functioning of JMC. He also assured all the members that necessary steps will be taken for smooth functioning of the Corporation and speedy disposal of the grievances of the general public.
