JAMMU, Oct 16: In a meeting, here today, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta reviewed functioning of the Corporation.
Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor; Baldev Singh Billowaria; Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Standing Committee; Jeet Kumar Angral, Chairman Social Justice Standing Committee; Parmod Kapahi, Councilor Ward-14 as well as BJP Chief Whip in general house meetings; Avny Lavasa, JMC Commissioner and other officers of JMC were also present in the meeting.
Speakers in the meeting discussed redressal of various public issues like providing better sanitation and cleanliness and promoting more development activities.
Keeping in view the upcoming festival season and opening of Darbar Move offices in Jammu, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor asked JMC Commissioner to take appropriate measures to ensure punctuality in JMC offices especially for the field staff of sanitation and transport section of the Corporation.
Issue of removing illegal encroachments over drains and nallahs, proper disilting of all major nallahs flowing through the city were also discussed.
The Mayor emphasized that work on vital projects like solid waste management, Swacch Bharat Mission etc which are in pipeline are required to be expedited. Discussion on preparedness for upcoming event of ‘My Town My Pride’ in JMC was also held.
A handout stated that Commissioner JMC assured that every possible step shall be taken for better functioning of each section of the Corporation.
