Mayor starts lane-drain work

JAMMU, Apr 19: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta here today started construction work of lane and drain in lane number 10 of Shiv Nagar area in Ward 33.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that the work of lane and drain was a long pending demand of locals of the area as they were facing problems due to the poor condition of lane and drain.
He also said that the work will be completed at an expenditure of Rs. 5.74 lakh and assured that required estimate of the remaining work of lanes and drains has already been framed and execution will start within two months.
The Mayor claimed that he is committed to make Ward number 33 a model one by providing all basic amenities.
He said that street lights have been installed in almost all the localities of the Ward as per demands of the locals and if required more will be made available soon.
Gupta directed the concerned Engineers as well as the contractor to complete the work started today by applying best construction materials and get it completed within stipulated time.
Mohan Lal, Naveen Kumar, Master Ram Pal, Master Natha Ram, Shamsher Singh, Shiv Ram and others were also present on the occasion.
