Mayor takes stock of public grievances in Bahu Fort area

JAMMU, Dec 28: Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta, today toured different localities of Bahu Fort area along with local Corporator Sharda Kumari and took stock of grievances of the residents.
The inhabitants of the area took up many issues like prevailing sanitation conditions, menace of stray dogs/animals, proper removal of garbage from their lanes on routine basis and remodeling of lanes/drains with the Mayor.
The Mayor directed the concerned officers on spot regarding disposal of grievances of the residents and also asked the people to avoid throwing their house hold garbage, filth etc in the public lanes and drains which blocks the drains and create unhygienic condition.
Gupta also asked the concerned Corporator to identify suitable site in her ward for further disposal of house hold garbage for segregation in a proper way. He directed the dairy owners not to throw cow dung of dairies in the public lane and drains and avail the facilities of loan of Rs 30,000 under proper subsidy of Rs 13,000 for installing Bio-gas unit in their dairy form with the condition that they do not throw cow dung and other waste in the public lanes and drains.
The Mayor appealed the general public and shopkeepers of the city to avoid use of polythene carry bags and cooperate with the Jammu Municipal Corporation to make Jammu neat clean and green under Swacch Bharat Mission.
Anuradha Charak, senior BJP leader, Dr Jaffar Iqbal, Municipal Veterinary officer, JMC and other field staff of Municipal Corporation were also accompanying the Mayor.
