JAMMU, Nov 30: In order to listen and address the grievances of general public, Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta today paid an exclusive visit to the various parts of the Jammu city.
The Mayor visited in areas including Pacca Danga, Kali Jani, Fattu Chowghan, New Plot, Jawahar Nagar and Rorian Chaprian. During his tour he interacted with the people of these areas and listened to their grievances.
During their interaction with the Mayor, people raised their issues, which they are facing like insanitation problems, malfunctioning of street lights, repair of drains, lanes, timely disposal and lifting of garbage from their areas.
They complained that due to these problems, school going children as well as the aged persons are badly affected.
After listening the problems of the people, Gupta issued the instructions to the concerned officers, who visited along with him including Health Officer, Executive Engineer (Trikuta Division), Executive Engineer (Electric) and Chief Transport Officer to resolve their issues immediately, so that people should get respite from their problems.
Earlier, Mayor also met with the presidents of various market associations and further appealed to the traders to place their articles within their shutters and keep the footpath for the usage of pedestrians.
He further appealed the people to park their vehicles in parking slots and avoid the traffic congestion and help JMC make city clean and green.
On the occasion, councillors of Ward No 4 and Ward No 16, Sunita Koul and Rajinder Sharma respectively also accompanied the Mayor.
