UDHAMPUR, May 3: In a function organized by MES Builders Association of India (MBAI) branch Udhampur, Speaker State Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta and Minister of State for Finance & Information Technology, Pawan Gupta were accorded warm reception here today.
In his welcome address, Chairman of the Association, Vinod Kumar Gupta put forth various issues related with the builders which include tax deductions at source, practice of frequent contract wise insertions, tax relief on purchase of material within J&K state consumed in the works, refund of excess tax paid and exemption of interstate tax of machinery/equipment at Toll Plaza Lakhanpur.
While speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta assured the builders association that their genuine problems and demands will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. He said a single window system would be established to provide hassle-free services and to bring transparency and accountability in the sector. He said that stress is being given for the grooming of local contractors by providing them an opportunity to serve the state.
Minister of State for Finance, said Government is keen to bring transparency and accountability in the working of engineering departments and in this regard e-tendering is a major initiative. He also assured all possible help from the Government for the fulfilment of their demands and also ascertained to take necessary steps to redress problems being faced by the builders.
Among other, Chairman MES Builders Association of India branch Udhampur, Vinod Kumar Gupta, Senior Vice President, Vijay Kumar Gupta, Vice Chairman, Sarabjeet Singh, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Council Members and Treasures were present on the occasion.
