JAMMU, May 15: Mata Bhaderkali Asthapan Trust Wadipora, Handwara Kashmir, celebrated Bhaderkali Jayanti with enthusiasm, religious fervour and gaiety in the Asthapan premises at Thalwal near here, today.
Thousands of devotees thronged the Asthapan to seek the blessings of Mata Bhaderkali on this auspicious day at Thalwal while a grand temple of the Mata is under construction.
Bhajans, Kirtans and other allied religious activities brought ecstatic feeling among all the devotees on the occasion.
The child artists of a social organisation- Sachel the Matamaal presented a variety of religious and cultural items under the overall supervision of its head Ravi Mahaldar. The items presented included Abhinav Gupta’s Bairow Stotra, Mahamrityunjay Mantra and Bhaderkali Nirtya.
On the occasion, a class 12th student recited a poem on the significance of the day.
After Pushp Archana and Samohik Aarti, Maha Bhog was served among all the devotees on the occasion.
Former Member of Parliament, Shemsher Singh Manhas also graced the occasion with his presence. He was accompanied by former MLC , G L Raina and a galaxy of dignitaries.
The programme was organised by the trustees of MBAT including Dileep Pandita, President; Rajender Pandita, Vice President; Ashok Ji Kaw, general secretary and Chand Ji Pandita, organiser.
On the occasion, the MBAT trustees honoured Shamsher Singh Manhas with a memento as a token of gratitude from the organisers.
