SAMBA, July 17: Babal Gupta senior Congress leader and member of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) today alleged that the people of Vijaypur are facing lot o trouble due to lack of staff in Vijaypur Municipal Committee.
Addressing the media persons at Vijaypur today the senior Congress leader and member of the Pradesh Congress Committee said that the Municipal Committee Vijaypur is functioning as a show piece. The condition of streets in Vijaypur town is worst. Due to this people are facing many hardships and MC Vijaypur is unable to solve the problem as it faces shortage of manpower. Although the elections for Municipal Council were held about two years back and the people of Vijaypur town had elected the members with the hope that the developmental works shall be executed but the situation has not changed. “We have talked with the President M.C. Vijaypur in this regard and it is astonished to know that the post of Sanitary Inspector is lying vacant for the last more than three years”. Similarly, the post of Executive Officer is also lying vacant; the assignment of E.O. has been given to E.O. Bari Brahmana and Samba who did not bother to attend the office.
The Khilafwarzi Inspector has also been transferred to Kathua and still the post is lying vacant. The post of lineman in M.C. Vijaypur is lying vacant. When there is no staff to look after and execution work how the Municipality can function as peer the expectations of the people. The population in Vijaypur town is going to increase rapidly.
He urged the Lieutenant Governor J&K, G C Murmu to fill up the vacant posts so that the Municipal Committee, Vijaypur can work for betterment of the people of Vijaypur Town.
