JAMMU, Apr 2: Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) Jammu has till date decided 6 paid news cases of various candidates contesting from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency.
Returning Officer Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency directed expenditure monitoring cell to include the expenditure based on standard rate cards and book the expenses in the election account of these candidates whose news items have been declared by MCMC as paid news cases.
It is pertinent to mention here the ECI has constituted MCMCs at State and district level for monitoring paid news instances in media and these committees at district and state level are monitoring all political advertisements.
Meanwhile, representatives of various political parties have approached Media Certification Committee headed by Returning Officer Jammu-Poonch Constituency for pre-certification of advertisements to be telecast through electronic media.
