LEH, Aug 24: Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Schoolnet India Limited, RCM Reddy, called on Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas today.
Advisor Umang Narula and Principal Secretary Sanjeev Khirwar were also present at the meeting.
MD & CEO of Schoolnet India Limited apprised about K-Yan (Knowledge Vehicle) — a feature-rich education technology device which is a 6-in-one interactive, easy-to-use teaching learning device that has been jointly designed and developed by Schoolnet India Limited and IIT Bombay.
He informed about the demo given by the Schoolnet team to students and the teaching faculty of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Leh. He stressed the need to empower and build the capacities of teachers to promote digital education in Ladakh and informed that K-Yan is a technology that can be used as a teaching assistant.
Reddy demonstrated the working of K-Yan and specified education and skill building as two areas where they can assist. He informed that K-Yan can prove beneficial in remote areas without internet connectivity and also apprised about Geneo- an application for self-learning for students.
