JAMMU, Aug 9: In a significant move to accelerate the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, a high-level meeting was held among Vikas Kundal, Managing Director of JPDCL, Manish Singh Bisht, Scientist-B, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), officers from JAKEDA and REC Limited with vendors registered on the PM Surya Ghar portal.
The meeting aimed to discuss the progress, challenges, and opportunities in promoting rooftop solar installations in Jammu and Kashmir. The vendors were briefed on the recently approved additional state subsidy and the importance of expediting the installation process to meet the scheme’s targets.
The MD, JPDCL, emphasized the need for collaboration and coordination among all stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the scheme. The MNRE representatives highlighted the Government’s commitment to renewable energy and the role of PM Surya Ghar Yojana in achieving energy self-sufficiency.
The vendors were assured full support from JPDCL, MNRE, and REC Limited in resolving any issues and streamlining the installation process.
This meeting marks a significant step forward in realizing the vision of a sustainable and energy-independent Jammu and Kashmir.
