*Hospital to receive annual grant of Rs 3 lakh

JAMMU, Dec 2: Mission Director, NHM J&K, Ayushi Sudan, today handed over National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) Certificate to Dr Ila Gupta (Medical Officer), Incharge (I/c) UPHC Shastri Nagar Jammu at State Health Society, Nagrota Jammu.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has accorded National Certification under National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) Programme to UPHC Shastri Nagar (Jammu), in recognition of the high standards of quality in the Hospital.
The certified facility was assessed by a team of highly qualified and empanelled assessors from the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in the month of July this year and rated as Quality Certified under NQAS program of National Health Mission. The National Certification will be valid for a period of three years subject to annual verification of the scores by the State Quality Assurance Committee.
UPHC Shastri Nagar shall receive an additional annual grant of Rs 3 lakh each as part of NQAS certification for next three years under National Health Mission for further strengthening, following which there will be re-inspection.
Speaking on the occasion, Ayushi Sudan said that the certification has been accorded to UPHC Shastri Nagar, Jammu in recognition of the high standards of quality and performance maintained by the Hospital. She informed that under NHM all efforts are being made to strengthen the health care delivery system to the utmost satisfaction of general public.
Others present on the occasion were Rajini Charak (Director P&S), Abhishek Talwaria (FA & CAO, SHS, NHM, J&K) and Dr Jitender Mehta (Programme Manager, Quality Assurance Programme, State Health Society, NHM, J&K).
Pertinent to mention here that under the supervision of Dr Ila Gupta, the team of UPHC Shastri Nagar did a tremendous job during and after Covid times to provide hassle free and quality health services to the people while demonstrating commitment for cleanliness, hygiene and infection control services.
Their selfless hard work paid off in the year 2021 when the Hospital won first prize under Kayakalp scheme of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for the year 2020-2021 in UT of J&K. The untiring efforts of Dr Ila and her team, is not only being acknowledged by the Health authorities but also common masses of Gandhi Nagar and Shastri Nagar, who maintain that UPHC Shastri Nagar even outdo renowned private hospitals of Jammu in terms of health services and cleanliness.
