JAMMU, Aug 28: In continuation of its commitment to bringing world-class healthcare to the doorstep in most Indian cities, Medanta – The Medicity, today announced the launch of Medanta Chest Surgery OPD at Medanta Mediconsult Centre, 87-A, Gole Market Gandhi Nagar.
It is an Initiative by Care India Foundation with Dr Harsh Vardhan Puri, Consultant, Institute of Chest Surgery Medanta – The Medicity. Dr Harsh Vardhan Puri will be available for consultation for all chest related problems. The OPD will function regularly on 4th Saturday of every month and offer patients from J&K and surrounding areas, access to world-class care for chest related problems.
Dr Harsh Vardhan Puri is country’s first board certified Thoracic Surgeon and a Consultant at Institute of Chest Surgery, Medanta-The Medicity. He has done his super-specialty masters in Thoracic Surgery. He is also a gold medalist in the field. He is thoroughly trained in advanced Thoracic (Chest) Surgery, Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) and Robotic Chest Surgery.
Dr Puri said that Chest Surgical Care is a specialized area which requires experience and expertise along with a large dedicated team. “At Institute of Chest Surgery, we have 6 dedicated Thoracic Surgery Consultants offering state of the art Minimally Invasive Surgery i.e. VATS/Key-hole or Robotic Surgery (including benign as well as malignant diseases) of the Chest. Now-a-days, Chest Oncology Cases including lung cancers, esophageal (food-pipe) cancers, Thymomas, Tracheal (wind-pipe) are on a rising trend,” he said, adding, with the launch of this new OPD, the patients at Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh will have this world class facility available in their city.
