RAJOURI, May 4: A group of media-persons in a meeting with the new Deputy Commissioner, Saugat Viswas, projected demand of setting up of Press Club at district headquarters here.
The members of the media from Print and Electronic, working at the district headquarters and tehsils discussed several issues. They said that on the pattern of Jammu and other cities, a site/ building for the Press Club at Rajouri should be identified. They sought cooperation of the DC in this regard. They also assured cooperation to the administration for raising the Club.
Mr Viswas assured the members of the Press to take up their issue with concerned quarters for setting up Club for media-persons here. He also asked the press persons to go for objective reporting and also cross check with the Administration if anything adverse goes before going for publication. He however, said that media-was free to perform its duty.
