Medical Employees Federation holds protest, highlights demands

POONCH, Apr 24: Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (MEF) held one-day protest at Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office here today.
Large number of employees under the leadership of Sushil Sudan, president, MEF participated in the protest and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
The speakers highlighted their demands including immediate clearance of DPC of various categories and filling up of all vacant posts in Health and Family Welfare Department as per seniority, release of salary under 2211-Family Welfare, employees working under New Pension Scheme and consolidated safaiwalas.
They also demanded rank promotion of FMPHWs at par with other categories, creation of posts of district pharmacy officers and block pharmacy officers, creation of posts of section officers in all the CMO offices and posts of head assistants at block level.
“Enhancement of FTA in favour of basic health workers from Rs 45 to Rs 1000 per month, pay scale of CHOs to be brought at par with central grades and filling up of posts of CHOs in all PHCs, risk allowance, sanction of uniform allowance, regularization of all pending cases of adhoc, contractual and consolidated employees and release of two and half day incentive in favour of non-Gazetted employees including ministerial staff were also demanded by the speakers.
Among others present were Vinod Kumar Sharma, secretary general, Balbir Singh, president district Poonch, Ravinder Singh, Arun Kapoor, Ali Asgar, Gagandeep Singh, Abdul Gani, etc.
Later, the federation submitted a memorandum of demands to CMO for necessary action.
