UDHAMPUR, May 1: Highlighting the demands, Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees organized a day-long dharna under the leadership of president Sushil Sudan, here today at CMO office.
A large number of medical employees from Udhampur district took part in the dharna and submitted a memorandum to Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur.
The demands, highlighted in the memorandum, included; immediate clearance of DPC of various categories and filling up of vacant posts in Health and Family Welfare Department strictly as per seniority, release of salary under 2211 head of Family Welfare employees working under new pension scheme and consolidated Safaiwalas who are without wages for the last five to 20 months, rank promotion of FMPHWs at par with other categories, creation of posts of District Pharmacy Officers, Block Pharmacy Officers,  Section Officers in all CMO offices and Head Assistant at block level.
The Federation also demanded enhancement of FTA in favour of Basic Health Workers from Rs 45 to Rs 1000 per month, bringing pay of CHOs at par with Central Grades, risk allowance to all categories working in Health Department, sanction of uniform allowance, regularization of all pending cases, two and half day extra pay incentive to all non-gazetted and ministerial staff.
The dharna was addressed by Sushil Sudan who warned to launch an intensified agitation if the Government does not concede the Federation demands. He also appealed all the Medical employees to remain united for a decisive struggle.
Others, who addressed the dharna, included Vinod Kumar Sharma, Purfulat Singh, Shyam Lal, Bodh Raj, Ashwani Khajuria, Dev Raj, Dheeraj Sharma, Mahatma Singh, Aruf Khan, Tilak Raj, Asgar Ali, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Meema Devi, Darshana Devi, Shashi Catwalk, Nancy Bhan, Rattan Lal, Shyam Lal and others.
