Medical employees threaten stir for release of salary

JAMMU, Jan 6: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation has threatened to launch a State wide agitation if the salary of Female  Multi-purpose  Health Workers  (FMPHWs) in sub-centres under Family Welfare Department is not released within two week.
The warning was issued during a meeting of the Federation, held under the chairmanship of State president Sushil Sudan. The meet expressed its serious concern over the plights of FMPHWs, who are without salary  for the last 10-12 months despite repeated reminders by the Federation and assurances by the concerned officers. It was resolved that a final strategy on the mode of agitation would be chalked out during a meeting at the Directorate Health Service complex on January 8.
The meet also highlighted some other demands, which included DPC of  Technicians in the Health Departments,  removal of pay anomalies of ministerial staff and drivers, creation of posts of Head Assistant and Section Officers, release of pending DA installments and drawing and disbursing powers at PHC level on the pattern of Education Department.
Those who attended the meeting, included Vinod Kumar Sharma, Kamal Jeet Sawhney, Jarnail Choudhary, R P Singh, Anoup Singh, Yougal Bakshi, Fazal Din, Anil Khajuria, Ajeet Kumar, Sodagar Mal and others.
