Medical negligence: Govt appoints inquiry officer

JAMMU, July 6: Government today appointed an inquiry officer to probe into the allegations of alleged medical negligence resulting into amputation of one of the feet of a victim here at Government Medical College Jammu.
An order said that Dr Shafqat Khan, Additional Mission Director, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, J&K, will inquire into the allegations of alleged medical negligence by the doctors of the Government Medical College Jammu that resulted in amputation of one of the feet of one Mehnaz of Akhnoor.
“The enquiry officer, after hearing the complainant as well as concerned Health Institute/doctors in question, shall submit its enquiry report along with specific recommendations to the Administrative Department within a period of 10 days for initiating further course of action,” read the order.
