KISHTWAR, Nov 22: Police arrested a medical shop owner along with large quantity of intoxicant tablets. However, police also recommended for cancellation of his medical shop’s license.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Kishtwar Police Station conducted raid at Vijay Medicos at Kuleed Chowk and recovered 630 intoxicant tablets. All these tablets were sedative in nature and the owner of shop use to sell these to the youth and students of the town for addiction.
The owner of the shop identified as Vijay Kumar, son of Khusi Ram, a resident of Thakraie, at present Kuleed has been taken into custody.
A case under FIR Number 241/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
Meanwhile, the police authorities have taken up the issue with the Drugs Controller Jammu and has recommended for the cancellation of the pharmaceutical license of the shop owner.
Police team led by SHO Inspector Sameer Jillani made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kishtwar Nihar Ranjan and SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary.
