JAMMU, May 27: To investigate the recent outbreak of acute diarrhoea, a medical team from the Directorate of Health Services headed by epidemiologist Dr. J. P. Singh visited the affected areas in Mendhar.
The medical team collected 10 stool samples and 6 water samples for investigations at the Microbiology Department of the Government Medical College Jammu. Doctors also treated the patients and distributed medicines. The Department also distributed the related essential medicines besides chlorine tablets among the people.
People were advised to consume boiled water, semi-solid food alongwith fluids to replenish nutrients. They were also advised to protect eatable from flies and cockroaches by properly covering them, consuming fresh fruits and vegetables and proper disposal of wastes.
