Sir,
Old age is inevitable, no matter to what extent one tries to keep oneself young and healthy. The slaps of time are so severe that even strongest tree falls to the ground. Erosion in moral values, have in fact, made life of oldies extremely bad. With spliting of joint family system their condition has further been worsened. Generally, sons get shrunk when question of keeping the parents with them comes. It is felt extremely troublesome to serve parents in their old age, when the latter need the most. Perhaps for the reason only, Old Age Homes are established. Even in social arena, these people aren’t much cared by our youngesters. Bank counters are glaring examples where they are seen standing in queues with pass books in their trembling hands. The nominal concession as they enjoy on the name of senior citizen are absolutely inadequate and scanty. The Govts should provide free medical aid to those below poverty line and ensure hospitable treatment to all such oldies at all platforms–to facilitate and make easy their autumn of life. Since the stage comes to everyone, only realization is needed.
Yours etc…
