Apropos to the news item in Daily Excelsior Feb 26 regarding mediclaim, it is stated that Retired Officers Forum Jammu, a voluntary organization duly registered under the societies Act VI of 1998 intends to bring to your kind notice that time and again the retirees have been discriminated as regards to the implementation of State Employees / Retirees Group Insurance Mediclaim Policy. It was first introduced on 6th October 2005 to 5th October 2006 with ICICI Lombard Insurance Company.
After the expiry of the policy, it was abondoned by the State Govt and even after lot of persuations, the Govt made fool of the retirees by issuing Circular letter No FD/Mediclaim-08/MF-II, Dated 25-11-2008. This callous attitude continued by the successive Govts with the retirees who remain more vulnerable to various ailments because of the advancing age.
The news pertains to Renewal of Mediclaim Insurance Policy for the Gazetted Officers only leaving behind the Non Gazetted Rmployees and the Retirees which tantamounts to sheer injustice and discrimination with this category of employees.
It is thus requested to the Government to do justice with the neglected employees.
