BHADERWAH, Feb 9: Patients faced numerous difficulties in getting treated for a couple of hours as work was suspended in Sub District Hospital (SDH) after a Medical Officer (MO) was allegedly manhandled by the attendants of a patient, here today.
According to the reports, a Medical Officer Dr Sunil Kumar who was on emergency duty was manhandled by the attendants who reportedly refuse to bring the patient in the ward and insisted treatment inside the car, resulting in chaos and suspension of work for sometime.
“Few persons came with a patient, who was already referred to DH Doda yesterday. They insisted me to treat him in their car. I went there and after examining the patient I asked them to shift to emergency CPR, but they refused and start misbehaving and even thrashed me”, said Dr Sunil Kumar.
Misbehaving and manhandling the doctors has become a precedence and administration should take strict action against the culprits, otherwise doctors will keep on becoming soft target and punching bag of the attendants, he added.
Later, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Bhadarwah, Owais Ahmed visited the hospital and assured that strict action will be taken against the culprits as soon as they are identified.
On the assurance, the doctors and other staff resumed the duties.
Meanwhile, a case under FIR Number 13/17 under Section 353 and 332 RPC has been registered at Police Station Bhadarwah and investigation started, a police official said.
