Srinagar, Jan 28: Doctors in the Valley have threatened to launch an indefinite strike against the illegal suspension of a senior doctor of Government Medical College here.
A spokesperson of the Doctors Association of Kashmir (DAK) said that if the DAK president Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan is not reinstated, doctors of Kashmir hospitals are left with no option but to go for indefinite strike against the unjustified and illegal suspension.
He said that Dr Nisar ul Hassan has been suspended for raising voice against illegalities which is vindictive.
“DAK president has been victimized for raising issues of public concern and his suspension is simply aimed at detering him from speaking out on legitimate grievances. He exposed the infamous spurious drug scam which killed hundreds of precious lives and his endeavors in this connection should have been applauded rather than unleashing reign of terror against him,” the spokesperson said.
He said that their president has been raising voice against corruption, nepotism and favoritism in health care which is responsible for its mess and has adversely affected patient care. Suspending him has given untold sufferings and miseries to his patients and medical students are deprived of a teacher and a mentor, he said.
