Meditation remedy to health problems: DyCM

JAMMU,  Nov 15 : Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh, today, said that through  meditation we can solve various health related issues like stress, anxiety and the onus lies on the people to follow the path as it can also lead to contentment and understanding the real essence of life.
The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking on a work shop on “Stress Management for Healthy Life” organized by Brahm Kumaris, Shastri Nagar in which several eminent personalities like Nirmala Devi and Sister Sarita (renowned Speaker on Raj Yoga) from Pune were present.
Dr. Singh called upon the people to follow the path of meditation in order to live a healthy life free of anxiety, stress and hatred. He said this will further help us in living a life full of positive energy so that we can contribute our bit in helping our fellow human beings, besides, creating a healthy and powerful nation.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the path of peace and mutual co-existence as taught by our sufis and seers is a path to be followed especially in the present context when certain forces are trying to push us into an era of death, destruction and chaos. “We should be following the path of meditation and yoga religiously as it leads us to self introspection and also gives us positive energy which in turn leads to a healthy society free from malice, hatred and violence”, he said and maintained that the Prime Minister of our country has already taken the initiative of introducing the Yoga at Global level which has been received overwhelmingly by people living in various countries across the globe.
The eminent Raj Yoga teacher and exponent Brahm Kumari Sister Sarita gave a detailed lecture on stress management for healthy life.
Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister lit the traditional lamp while inaugurating the workshop.
The Deputy Chief Minister also met with several deputations including the KAS Officers delegation and one from Ramban District.
The KAS Officers, delegation demanded that the officers from the KAS cadre should also be posted as Secretaries and 50% quota should be reserved for them in the pool of Deputy Commissioners.
The Deputy Chief Minister while interacting with them assured  that the issues projected by them would be taken up with the concerned.
The deputation from Ramban projected several demands related to various issues pertaining to development of their areas.
Dr. Singh assured the deputation that the Government is committed to undertake sustained development of the rural and the far flung areas of the State and in this regard several welfare initiatives have already been undertaken in various sectors like R&B, PDD, PHE and RDD.
