Meditation Workshop held at Aryans Institute of Nursing

JAMMU, Oct 26: To teach about relieving stress and enhance the body potential, a virtual workshop on meditation held at Aryans Institute of Nursing, Chandigarh on ‘Beyond Breath’.
Dr. Vaishalee Punj and Dr. Sunny Madar, Youth Trainer, Art of Living interacted with faculty members and the students of Engineering, Law, Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, B. Ed and Agriculture.
During the workshop, various techniques of meditation were taught to the students which can keep their inner strength strong to fight against health crisis in this stressful pandemic situation.
Dr. Punj while interacting with students said, this programme can help in stress management, uplifting mood and positive attitude, increased focus and memory enhancement, better health and good relationships.
She later explained Sudarshan Kriya which is a powerful breathing technique to bring body, mind and soul together.
She said meditation is a type of mind-body complementary medicine and nationwide survey reveals significant increases in use of mind and body approaches during this COVID -19 pandemic.
Dr Madar while explaining various breathing exercises said meditation can give a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both emotional well-being and overall health.
He said that student life can be stressful but it does not mean that students have to let stress take over their lives.
“By meditation students can not only relieve stress but also improve their memory, focus and ultimately their grades,” he advised.
