Meeting of District Advisory Committee on youth programmes held

KATHUA, Mar 7: To finalize implementing strategies of Punarjagran activities in the district, a meeting of District Advisory Committee on Youth Programmes was convened by Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary here today.
Deputy Commissioner urged upon officers concerned to educate, aware and link the public with flagship programmes of the Government viz. Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Right to Information Act, Public Service Guarantee Act etc. and sensitize them to actively participate in these programmes to make these flagship programmes effective and result oriented.
He also said that to implement the project effectively, village level advisory committees will be constituted with the composition of various departments.
It was also informed in the meeting that with the consultation of various departments the operational areas and action plan for 100 villages will be finalized for the Punarjagran Campaign.
Pertinent to mention here that Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India is launching Punarjagaran Abhiyan in 100 districts and Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kathua has been selected as one out of the 100 NYK-district for implementing the Abhiyan.
The main objective of the programme is to organize, aware, educate youth for empowerment so that they could play on active and constructive role in developmental activities
Punarjagaran Abhiyan will be implemented in 100 villages of Kathua district.
Among others the meeting was attended by Joint Director Agriculture, District Programme Officer ICDS, CMO and Dy. Director Employment.
