Meeting of SKUAST-J Board of Studies for Agriculture Faculty held

JAMMU, Feb 24: 13th meeting of Board of Studies for Faculty of Agriculture of SKUAST-Jammu was held today at Chatha Campus.
The important agendas of this meeting included increase in intake capacity of B Sc (Hons.) Agri from 70 to 120; provision of supplementary examination for under graduate programme and restructuring and renaming of Basic Agriculture Training (BAT)/Basic Horticulture Training (BHT) to Diploma in Agriculture and Diploma in Horticulture, respectively.
A lot of threadbare discussions were held on all the agenda items. In the concluding remarks, the Chairman, Prof  R M Bhagat stressed on adhering to academic regulations and framing of such curricula which will help in overall development of students so that they will compete in national level and bring laurel to the institution. The meeting was ended with vote of thanks from Dr  Parshant Bakshi, Member Secretary.
Earlier, at the outset, Prof  V Kaul, I/c University Examination Cell,  presented a welcome address. The meeting was attended by  Prof  R M Bhagat, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture; Prof  S K Gupta, Dean Faculty of Basic Science, Prof  V K Razdan, I/c Librarian, Prof  D P Abrol, all the Professors, Associate Professors, other members and Dr  Bharat Bhushan, Dy  Registrar (Acad.) and Dr  Vikas Sharma, Asstt Prof Biochemistry as Rapporteurs.
