MEF frames new body, discusses demands

JAMMU, Mar 24: A meeting was under the chairmanship of Sushil Sudan, president, Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) in which a new executive body was announced, here today.
The meeting highlighted the demands which included immediate clearance of DPC of various categories and filling up of all vacant posts in Health and Family Welfare Department strictly as per seniority at earliest, release of salary under 2211-family welfare, employees working under new pension scheme and consolidated safaiwalas who are without wages for 5-20 months, rank promotion of FMPHWs at par with other categories viz pharmacist, Lab Tech, dental tech, opth tech etc, promotion of FMPHWs and pay scale be upgraded, creation of posts of District Pharmacy Officers and Block Pharmacy officers.
The other demands were enhancement of FTA in favour of basic health workers from Rs 45 to Rs 1000 per month, pay scale of CHOs be brought at par with Central grades, risk allowance to all categorties working in Health Department, sanction of uniform allowance and risk allowance to field workers in UMCP, Jammu, regularization of all pending cases of adhoc/contractual and consolidated employees and 2 ½ day pay incentive be released in favour of all non-gazetted employees included ministerial staff.
It was resolved that in case the authorities fail to accede the demands within 15 days the federation shall be left with no option but to go for dharna on April, 12, 2014.
Those present on the occasion were Vinod Kumar Sharma, Kamaljeet Sawhney, Mela Singh, Jarnail Chowdhary, R P Singh, C L Koul, Anoop Singh, Urmil Ganjoo, Mohni Raina, Tejinder Singh, Rakesh Bakshi, Ekta Seth and others.
