MEF meets Health Minister, highlights demands

JAMMU, Apr 3: JK Medical Employees Federation (MEF) led by its president Dharminder Singh Bhargav met Minister for Health Shabir Ahmed Khan and discussed various demands relating to the health employees of the State.
The demands, which were discussed included irregularities in the proposed recruitment rules relating to promotion under SRO-20, which are lying pending in the Administrative Department, DPC to be conducted so as to fill the vacant posts in the Health Department for deserving employees and redressal of the cases of the Female Multipurpose Health Workers for their promotion.
Bhargav said that the five posts of the District Malaria Officer are lying vacant and due to their non-availability the work of NVBDCP is not in order.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the demands projected by the federation and issued instruction to Directorate Health Services and other concerned departments for their early redressal.
Among others present were Paramjit Singh, general secretary, Mohd Latif, cashier, Saroj Bala, president, Female Multipurpose Health Worker and Pawan Sharma.
