JAMMU, Nov 29: The deputation of Migrant Employees Forum Kashmir (MEFK) called on Special representative of Union Government on Jammu & Kashmir, Dineshwar Sharma here, today and highlighted the issues concerning them.
They also handed over a memorandum to him highlighting the demands.
The deputation was comprising of Sanjay Koul, president of the Forum along with Sunny Raina ,Avtarji Dhar and Kamalji. They apprised Dineshwar Sharma about their plight and hardships in Valley while performing their duties. The Forum highlighted the issues like acute shortage of water, deduction of HRA, lack of education facilities and demanded waiving off of turmoil period and proper accommodation be given to employees.
The deputation said that at the time of employment given to them they were promised to be provided with the sufficient and adequate accommodation, but unfortunately 550 units of (Pre- Fabricated) structures have been put up till date for more than 3000 employees who are putting up on sharing basis along with their families. Apart from this additional 3000 posts are in process for Kashmiri migrants as a part of return & rehabilitation program on fast track basis.
They said as far as the accommodation of these employees and employees putting up in sharing basis is concerned, the Chief Minister was requested that more structures at district Anantnag, Srinagar, Kupwara, Baramulla may be constructed on war footing basis so that KP employees are not put to hardships.
As we are residing on sharing basis with nearly 3-4 families in a single unit, but unfortunately few officials including DDOs are adamant to deducting HRA from the salaries of the employees. It is requested that this may be stopped.
Moreover  Central schools (Kendriya Vidhyaliya) upto secondary level may kindly be setup within all camps for the wards of the employees.
While listening to the problems Mr Sharma assure the Forum for early redressal.
