JAMMU, Feb 1: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital (SMVDNSH), in collaboration with the Praja Parishad Memorial Trust, successfully organized a Mega Health Camp at Jourian on the occasion of Shaheedi Diwas.
The camp received an overwhelming response, benefiting more than 1,700 patients with free consultations across multiple specialties, including orthopaedics, internal medicine, dermatology, gynaecology, general surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, dental, and paediatrics. Senior consultants from SMVDIME and SMVDNSH offered expert medical guidance, addressing various health concerns and advising patients on necessary treatments.
In addition to consultations, the camp provided a range of diagnostic services to facilitate early detection of medical conditions. More than 400 lab tests were conducted, 105 X-rays performed, over 200 ECGs recorded for cardiac assessment, and 20 mammograms carried out for early breast cancer screening. To ensure immediate relief, thousands of free medicines were also distributed among patients.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr Yashpal Sharma, Executive Director of SMVDIME, emphasized the Institution’s commitment to accessible and preventive healthcare. “This health camp reflects our unwavering dedication to community well-being. The overwhelming participation highlights the urgent need for continued outreach programs, and we remain committed to expanding our services to more such regions in the future,” he stated.
Through their expertise and resources, SMVDIME and SMVDNSH continue to extend high-quality medical care beyond hospital walls, reinforcing the vision of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board to serve those in need through specialized outreach initiatives.
