JAMMU, Nov 24: A one-day comprehensive Restorative Dental cum Awareness Camp was held at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Central University of Jammu (CUJ) Rahya-Suchani, on the occasion of 3rd Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas (JJGD) celebrated by Ministry of Tribal Affairs .
The Camp was organized by Dr Azhar Malik (HoD, PG Deprtment of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, IGGDC Jammu) in collaboration with Dept of Students’ Welfare, Central University of Jammu led by Prof Sanjeev Jain (Vice Chancellor) and Dr Yashwant Singh (I/c Registrar, Central University).
The staff and students of the University were screened for oral conditions like Caries and restorative treatment was done, and medications were distributed to the needy people by the team of expert doctors comprising Dr Azhar Malik, Dr Shamim Anjum, Dr Sachin Chadgal, Dr Tania Jandial, Dr Ankit (PG), Dr Insha & Dr Ashna (interns).
The Day was observed with series of activities and events comprising of floral tributes to tribal freedom fighters, quiz on tribal matters and health camp at Kendriya Vidyalaya organised by Dr Vijayata Puri (Medical Officer, Central University).
Dr Rakesh K Gupta (Principal and Dean, IGGDC Jammu) emphasized the importance and maintenance of oral hygiene.
This camp is in continuation of the series of Dental Restorative Camps organized to encourage the overall health of public under the expert and productive guidance of Dr Azhar Malik and coordinated by Dr Shamim Anjum (Incharge, Dental Speciality Camp).
Dental Awareness lecture was given by Dr Tania Jandial. The off-campus activities were executed under overall guidance and direction of Principal & Dean of IGGDC Jammu Dr Rakesh Krishan Gupta who has always encouraged such activities.
