BARAMULLA, June 6: As part of its outreach initiatives for the town and populace of Baramulla, the Dagger Division under the aegis of the Chinar Corps today organized a series of events.
In response to widespread urgings over the last couple of months, the Army 46RR in concert with the civil administration and the Auqaf Board has undertaken a comprehensive facelift and infrastructural upgrade of the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) in Old Baramulla Town.
The Corps Commander Chinar Corps, Lieutenant General Subrata Saha, today visited the medical centre and dedicated the upgraded facility to the people of the Old Town. As part of the initiative, the UPHC was presented with a state of the art ambulance, a dental chair, an ECG machine, an X-ray machine, a fully functional pathological laboratory and a 10 bedded hospital section.
A visit was also made by Soma Saha, zonal president AWWA, 15 Corps to the children’s orphanage run by ‘The J&K People’s Education Trust’ in the AI-Mustafa Colony of Old Town Baramulla. The lady interacted with the girl students of the orphanage and later presented stationery and other utility items to the orphanage.
The Corps Commander along with Soma Saha also graced the culminating event of a weeklong celebration of creativity and talent – ‘Hafta-e-Hunar’, wherein the children of the schools of Baramulla exhibited their creative skills through a series of competitions: painting, debating and quiz.
Javid Hussain Beigh, MLA Baramulla, Garib Dass, DIG North Kashmir, HS Rawat DIG CRPF, PK Joshi DIG BSF, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, DC Baramulla, Shujat Ali Khan, Principal District & Sessions Judge Baramulla, Syed Raouf Shah, Chief Education Officer, District Baramulla and many others civil dignitaries were present.
While addressing the children in the Thimayya Hall, the Corps Commander exhorted them to hone their academic faculties while concurrently developing other aspects of their persona.
