SRINAGAR, Apr 25: Former Parliamentarian and PDP’s General Secretary (Organization), Dr Mehboob Beg today appealed people to make those accountable who ensured that PAGD and its concept could not see the light of the day.
‘Jenab Omar Abdullah should explain to the people as to why the United Front that was formed to fight against BJP’s onslaught on the people of Jammu & Kashmir was broken up,” he said while addressing a gathering at Anantnag.
Posing some tough questions to the National Conference’s Vice President, Dr Beg jeered that Omar Abdullah must have received a pat on the back from those who stood to gain from weakening PAGD that was constituted to ensure that the people of Jammu & Kashmir were given a robust platform to lend unity and strength to their voice.
Dr Beg also raised questions on the performance and stand taken by the three National Conference MPs and asked as to why they failed to represent the people on the floor of the highest forum.
“The National Conference knows very well that their Members of Parliament failed to represent the aspirations of the people and are now hiding behind religious leaders to see them through. The people see and know what is going on” he said.
Dr Beg said that not only the people of Kashmir, but the people of Jammu and Ladakh had also decided to defeat the communal politics of the BJP.
