SRINAGAR, Nov 8: Condemning all acts and forms of violence perpetrated by any party that prevent or hinder efforts of bringing peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir, PDP President and Member Parliament, Mehbooba Mufti has expressed anguish over the tragic death of Gowhar Nazir Dar of Mustafabad, Srinagar.
Mehbooba said while the Government has already ordered an official inquiry into the tragic death of the youth, the people who instigate the gullible boys to resort to violent actions must stop exacerbating the miseries of Kashmiris who have underwent the darkest era of death and destruction for the past more than two decades. “Having suffered immensely over the years, the people in Jammu and Kashmir now want to live in peace and instigators and perpetrators of violence must read the writing on the wall,” she said and added that time has come for the people of the State to raise their voice against all forms of violence.
Condemning the brutal attacks on the people who attended the Prime Minister’s rally in Srinagar on Saturday, Mehbooba said nobody has the right to resort to atrocious violent means against the people for following a certain political thought.
Ms Mehbooba visited various hospitals in Srinagar today to enquire about the condition of the persons who were injured in senseless stone-pelting incidents in various parts of Kashmir while they were on their way back after attending the Prime Minister’s rally in Srinagar. “Such an unruly behavior is not acceptable in a civilized society and nobody has the right to browbeat and commit atrocities on the cadres of the political parties who attended the Prime Minister’s rally,” she said.
