SRINAGAR, May 13: Former minister and Jammu and Kashmir Bachao Tehreek president Abdul Gani Vakil today said that Mehbooba Mufti has proved as helpless Chief Minister ever seen in the history of J&K State.
Addressing a party convention here at Tulsi Bagh Gani Vakil stressed for result oriented dialogue between India, Pakistan and the Hurriyat leadership of Jammu and Kashmir as talking only to pro-India (mainstream) parties has so far yielded no results and nothing has come out of it over the decades. So it is necessary to engage Hurriyat in talks to restore peace in the trouble torn State.
Commenting on the unilateral ceasefire proposed during the All Parties meet here, Vakil said Mehbooba Mufti is helpless Chief Minister J&K has ever seen. She is not in a position to talk to the Prime Minister on the said issue and is facing stiff opposition from her coalition partner. BJP has left her red faced on every sensitive issue and she is completely helpless,” Vakil added.
Coming down heavily on the Government, he said people feel insecure in the Mehbooba Mufti led Government and said that Mehbooba should resign on moral grounds. “There is no sense in continuing the Government when your own people feel insecure,” not only in the State but outside State as well. He condemned the recent severe beating of innocent Kashmiri family in Delhi and Mehbooba Mufti is not even daring to ask her coalition partner ruling in the centre to stop harassment of Kashmiris in the different States of the country.
Vakil also appealed to the civil society members to come forward cutting across political lines and must seriously debate about the path adopted by our future generation. “In the future the fight will be about have and have not. The middle class boys are deprived of education, while the children of industrialists, ministers, politicians, bureaucrats study outside the State. There are apprehensions that the whole administration will be in the hands of the people of rich and poor ones will be subjugated.
In a resolution passed during meeting it was stressed upon the Government of India to shun the policy of bloodshed in Kashmir as it will leave people with no option but to hit the streets in protest and will get distanced from mainstream which country cannot afford. In second resolution it was pledged that Jammu and Kashmir Bachao Tehreek will fight with full force against the dynasty rule in the State that is a root cause of our problems and bloodshed.
