Mehbooba-led Haj Goodwill delegation discusses issues of Indian pilgrims

JEDDAH, Sept 20: A two member Prime Minister’s Haj Goodwill delegation, led by Member of Parliament and PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti, arrived at Saudi Arabia on September 17.
She is being accompanied by Anwar Mohammed Khan from Madhya Pradesh, who is Deputy Leader of Haj Goodwill Delegation.
On September 19, 2015, the Haj Goodwill Delegation was given a detailed presentation by Consul General B.S. Mubarak and Deputy Consul General, Mohammad Noor Rahman Sheikh on Haj arrangements.
The Chairman and four other members of the Haj Committee of India were also present. Some of the prominent Indians who have come to perform Haj were also invited for the presentation, which lasted for more than an hour and was followed by a session where all the issues related to Haj operations were discussed.
After the presentation, the Haj Goodwill Delegation visited the Indian Haj Mission hospitals in Makkah and Azizia. The leader met several in-patients and enquired about their wellbeing.
Today, the Haj Goodwill Delegation met with the Haj Minister, Dr Bandar Al-Hajjar. The leader offered her condolences on the accident at Haram Sharief and discussed the issue of transportation in Azizia for Indian Pilgrims.
Mehbooba suggested that the transport system should be strengthened and local authorities should be involved in it. She also conveyed to the Minister about the issues related to catering arrangements for Indian pilgrims in Madinah Munawarah. The leader also invited the Minister to visit India, especially Jammu & Kashmir.
The delegation also visited the families of the deceased pilgrims who lost their lives in the Haram Sharief crane accident and visited few other buildings of pilgrims and interacted with them and enquired about their well-being.
