SRINAGAR : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti today led party leaders and workers to paying homage and offering Fateha to former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on his Chharum (40th day).
Sayeed, who was heading PDP-BJP coalition government in the state,passed away on January 7 in AIIMS, New Delhi which was followed by imposition of Governor rule on February 8 after both the partners failed to provide any alternative because of some differences.
Ms Mehbooba, accompanied by her mother, brother and two sisters besides party leaders, offered ‘Fateha’ at the grave of Sayeed this morning at Dara-Shikoh garden.
A senior PDP leader and minister in the previous coalition government Naeem Akhtar said Ms Mehbooba and others spent some time at the grave of Sayeed before returning to Srinagar. He said large number of party workers and others were also offering ‘fateha’ to the late leader. (AGENCIES)
