Srinagar, June 12: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Chief Minister of J&K, Mehbooba Mufti today visited the affected families of the Noorbagh blaze in North Kashmir’s Baramulla and expressed sympathy with them.
Accompanied by other party functionaries, Mehbooba appreciated the efforts of the locals as well as other departments in dousing down the flames and said that their work deserves to be appreciated.
“I have talked to the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla regarding decongesting the spot of the blaze. There is a need to shift some families to avoid such incident from happening,” she said while talking to the media persons.
While talking about the fire victims, Mehbooba said that they are poor people and that there is a need for helping them out. “People must generously help the fire victim families so that they could rebuild their lost homes,” she said.
Referring to the situation in J&K, Mehbooba underlined that the violence cannot resolve any issue and impressed on the need for dialogue to ensure long-lasting peace in the region.
While commenting over the Sopore militant attack that occurred during the day, she said that such incidents are condemnable and will not help in resolving the Kashmir issue.
“Nobody’s gun is going to help resolve the Kashmir issue; it rather complicates the entire situation as I believe that the solution to everything lies in dialogue,” she said.
