KUPWARA, July 2: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), in collaboration with District Administration, Kupwara today organized a grievance redressal camp at Town Hall Kupwara aimed to address and resolve the child rights issues in the district.
Member, NCPCR, Dr. Divya Gupta chaired the grievances redressal camp while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan was also present at the event.
The camp held the most importance as Kupwara district is an aspirational district. The event provided a platform for children and their guardians to voice their grievances and seek solutions.
Addressing the camp, Member, NCPCR said that education is crucial for children because it lays the foundation of their future success and well being. She said that education equips children with knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to navigate through life successfully and contribute positively to society.
Dr. Divya emphasized the need for community and government support to enhance educational opportunities for the children.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized the importance of strengthening child protection mechanisms and upholding children’s rights. She stressed that every member of society has a role in supporting and safeguarding children’s rights especially in Kupwara district.
The redressal camp witnessed huge participation of children, parents and guardians, and concerned stakeholders from across the district who voiced their concerns related to child rights issues, education, healthcare, and other critical issues affecting children.
The Member NCPCR directed the concerned HoDs to initiate prompt action for the timely resolution of the genuine issues. Several issues were also resolved on the spot.
Earlier, Member NCPCR along with DC Kupwara inspected various stalls set up by different departments including health, ICDS, Social Welfare, DLSA, Banks, PDD and other departments, to acquaint the general public about the beneficiary schemes being implemented by them.
Various facilities, including Aadhar, disability aids and equipment, health check-up, Ayushman Bharat Cards, and bank account opening services were provided during the camp and sanction letters of various schemes were distributed.
ASP Kupwara, ACR Kupwara, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, Chief Education Officer, Technical Consultants of NCPCR, DSWO, CEO MC and other District Officers attended the camp.
