JAMMU, Apr 12: A member of a mining mafia gang has been arrested for attacking police team and injuring a Sub Inspector few days back.
As per police sources, a police team led by SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh on specific information about illegal mining from river Tawi conducted raid near Sidhra, but the team was attacked by the members of the mining mafia. Incharge Police Post Sidhra SI Shakeel Ahmed was injured in the attack.
A case under relevant Sections stands registered at Police Station Nagrota and hunt was launched to nab the attackers.
On reliable information, police team arrested one member of the gang and hunt is going on to nab other persons involved in the case.
